Abraham Assayag, CCIC: representative authorized to represent you before the government of Canada

Canadian Certified Immigration Consultants (CCIC) , Canadian lawyers and notaries who are members of the Chambre des notaires du Québec, are the only remunerated professionals who are authorized to represent and act on behalf of their clients clients before Canadian immigration services.

The Government of Canada has given the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) the mandate to regulate the profession of Certified Canadian Immigration Consultant and establish the requirements to join this profession.

In the words of CSIC (http://www.csic-scci.ca/en/content/whybecomeccic):

"The CSIC certification confirms that the consultant is an authorized representative recognized by the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Governments. It is available only to candidates who have successfully completed an approved formal academic program and passed a rigorous application process.

Certified immigration consultants must abide by a Code of Conduct and carry mandatory errors and omissions insurance. They are also subject to a formal complaints process.

For the client, the CCIC certification is a guarantee of quality and professionalism. Certified immigration consultants can respond to all of their clients' needs, while earning their trust and building a rewarding career."


The CCIC certification: a rigorous process

To be granted the CCIC certification by the Canadian Society of Immgration Consultants candidates must successfully undergo a rigorous certification process, prove they are knowledgeable in matters concerning immigration laws, regulations and procedures, show ability to ethically advise immigration candidates and represent them before Canada's immigration services, and provide proof of Good Character.

The certification process requires:

  • providing police certificates

  • successfully complete an approved academic program in immigration

  • pass the CSIC full membership professional exam

  • demonstrate proficiency in one of Canada's two official languages through independently conducted linguistic evaluation.

To keep their certification CCIC's must:

  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities

  • Abide by a strict Code of Professional Conduct

  • Carry Professional Errors and Omissions Liability Insurance which contributes to protect clients .
