Briefly, to be accepted, a candidate must:
- Be selected by the immigration services of Quebec on the basis of several criteria such as labour market or business experience, education and training, knowledge of French and English, age and adaptability
- Have sufficient financial means to support themself and their family members during a period of at least the first 3 months after their arrival in Canada.
- Be issued a Quebec selection certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec or CSQ)
- Apply for a permanent resident visa from Canada’s immigration services
- Successfully pass security and medical examinations showing that they will not represent a burden on Canada’s health and social services or pose a danger to security.
