The Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants

Created in 2004, the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) has been designated by the Government of Canada to:

  • regulate the profession of immigration consultant en immigration and

  • protect the interests of consumers of immigration consultant services i.e. our clients and the clients of Certified Canadian Immigration Consultants (CCIC) in general.

The CSIC protect consumers interests in several ways. It:

  • determines strict competence and professional conduct standards which CCIC's must abide by (please read sectionThe CCIC label: a quality label)

  • manages a complaints mechanism which clients may recur to in case of dissatisfaction with the service provided by or disagreement with a Certified Canadian Immigration Consultant, and has the power to discipline an immigration consultant

  • requires from consultants that they maintain errors and omissions insurance coverage.

Canada's immigration law and regulations mandate that any paid counsel you hire to represent you before the Government of Canada in an immigration procedure, must be a member in good standing of one of three groups of professionals as described in the following table:

Canadian immigration services will not deal or communicate with paid representatives who are not thus authorized to represent clients .
