Prince-Edward-Island Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for skilled workers
Prince-Edward-Island can nominate candidates based on their qualifications and on their economic ability to establish in the province to live and work.
Candidates can apply on the following streams to immigrate to Prince-Edward-Island (PEI) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
- PEI Express Entry
- Skilled Workers living in PEI
- Skilled Worker Outside Canada
- International Graduates
- Critical Workers
PEI express entry
The PEI PNP Express Entry stream is a faster way for eligible skilled workers to immigrate to Prince-Edward-Island. Candidates must also qualify for a federal economic immigration program. The express entry stream uses a points-based invitation system, and is an entirely web-based registration and application process for both the provincial nomination and permanent residency process.
You must be first accepted into Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Express Entry pool and then, after, nomination by PEI could be increased if, in PEI, you live, own a residential property, own a business, have a job offer, previous work experience in certain skills or have family members living on the Island.
Skilled worker living in PEI
The Skilled Worker stream is employer-driven, and allows employers of PEI to fill high-skilled positions that they are unable to fill through the local job market.
Candidates that are currently employed by an Island employer can apply for a nomination for permanent residency through the Skilled Worker stream of the Prince
Candidates that wish to apply under this stream, must:
- Have a full-time permanent job offer (minimum of 2 years) from a PEI employer in NOC skill level 0, A, or B
- Have a valid work permit to be working in Canada.
- Be 21 to 59 years old
- Have at least two years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years.
- Have sufficient English and/or French language ability to perform the job offered.
- Have enough financial resources to successfully establish in PEI.
- Demonstrate intention to settle in PEI.
Skilled worker outside Canada
The Skilled Worker stream is employer-driven, and allows employers of PEI to fill high-skilled positions that they are unable to fill through the local job market.
Candidates that have a job offer from an Island employer can apply for a nomination for permanent residency through the Skilled Worker Outside Canada stream.
Candidates that wish to apply under this stream must:
- Have a full-time permanent job offer (minimum of 2 years) from a PEI employer in NOC skill level O, A, or B
- Have a legal status in country of residence
- Be 21 to 59 years old
- Have at least two years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years.
- Have sufficient English and/or French language ability to perform the job offered.
- Have enough financial resources to successfully establish in PEI.
- Demonstrate intention to settle in PEI.
Critical Workers
The Critical Worker stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is employer-driven. It allows allowing Island employers to fill low-skilled positions that they are unable to fill through the local job market.
Candidates that wish to apply under this stream must:
- Have a full-time permanent job offer (minimum of 2 years) from a PEI employer in NOC skill level C or D, in one of the following occupations: truck driver, customer service representative, labourer, food and beverage server, or housekeeping attendant.
- Have worked a minimum of six months full-time for the PEI employer.
- Have a valid work permit and legal status in Canada.
- Have a minimum education of high-school equivalent.
- Be 21 to 59 years old
- Have at least two years of full-time work experience or relevant education in the past 5 years.
- Have a score of at least 4 on the Canadian Language Benchmark in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English or French;
- Have enough financial resources to successfully establish in PEI.
- Demonstrate intention to settle in PEI.
