According to a survey of 21,117 individuals, Canada placed 1st among the 80 countries analyzed in terms of quality of life.
Canada also placed 2nd overall in the 2018 Best Countries Overall Rankings published by U.S. News & World Report.
U.S. News & World Report has prepared this analysis in collaboration with the BAV Consulting brand strategy firm and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
This report has measured 65 country attributes regrouped in 9 categories to calculate the country rankings.
These 65 attributes include:
- friendliness of its people
- respect for human rights
- beauty of nature
- high level of freedoms
- respect for property rights
- well-developed public education system
- well-developed public health system
- quality of infrastructures
- safety of the population
- advanced legal framework
- openness to the rest of the world
- competitive tax environment
- openness to doing business
- transparency of business and government practices
- strength of job market and economy
- income equality
- affordability
- political stability; and
- many more attributes
