Siminca represents several schools specializing in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or Fench as a Second Language in Canada. These courses are for adults and also accept students aged 16 and over. They are are designed to teach conversational or academic  English or French  as well as specialized courses adapted to the needs of specific professions. Options offering academic English are designed for candidates who wish to be admitted in a technical or vocational program or in a graduate or postgraduate academic program.

Siminca offers services adapted for each need. These may be either all inclusive packages (Turnkey and comprehensive) or Customized to offer only the services which students may require from Siminca.

In turnkey and comprehensive Premium packages  Siminca will perform all the services that must be performed so that a foreign student may be able to start classes in Canada. In Premium Packages, Siminca will ensure all the following services are provided for a student :

  • Language courses identification, recommendation and registration
  • Registration in accommodation whether in Homestay or in Residence
  • Inclusion of meal plans
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off
  • Provision of medical Insurance
  • Guidance Pre-departure to Canada
  • Application for eTA or Canadian Visas
  • Application for study permit.

In Customized or  À la carte” packages the following are included

  • Language courses identification, recommendation and registration
  • Application for eTA or Canadian Visas
  • Application for study permit.

but  the student determines which of the following services he or she wishes Siminca to provide him or her: Accommodation in Homestay or Residence or no accommodation at all; with or without meal plans; with or without transportation to and from the Canadian airport of destination; with or without medical insurance.

As a rule, a Canadian study permit is required for foreign student who wish to study in Canada. However if the duration of the study in Canada is less than 6 months, a study permit will not be required.

Whether a study permit is required or not, all persons who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada must apply for and receive either a visitor visa  or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) in order to be able to enter Canada to study. As a general rule a visa is required to enter Canada. However citizens of several countries which are visa-exempt need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to Canada. Find out if you need an eTA or a Visa

Siminca will prepare and submit your study permit should one be required, at the same time as your visa or eTA application, depending on your situation.
