Quebec Immigrant Investor Program

The province of Quebec aims to attract managers and business owners. The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program is one such program, which allows managers and business owners to become permanent residents of Canada.

Conditions to apply for immigration to Canada under the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program

Applicants must have management experience or own and manage a business. Quebec Immigrant investor candidates must demonstrate at least 2 years of management experience acquired in the past 5 years. This experience may be in a professional, commercial, agricultural or industrial business, or in a government department. Quebec Immigrant Investor Program candidates may also apply if they have acquired management experience in an international organization.

To apply for immigration to Canada under this program, a candidate must also have legally accumulated family net assets of at least CAD$ 2 000 000 (alone or with their accompanying spouse).

Applicants must have the intention to live in the province of Quebec, for example in Montreal.

An additional condition to be approved for immigration to Canada under the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program is to make a 5 year loan to (and guaranteed by) the Quebec Government in the amount of $CAD 1 200 000 either directly or through the financing provided by one of the financial institutions accredited by the Quebec Government to participate in this program.

Only a limited number of candidates are accepted each year to apply for permanent residence in Canada under the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program.

There is no limit to the number of applications accepted for processing for candidates who can demonstrate knowledge of French of at least a high intermediate level as attested by an official language testing.

Advantages of the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program

No age limit is imposed on applicants who meet the conditions of the program. All applications include the candidate and their spouse and dependent children. In most cases, candidates may qualify under the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program even if they have little or no knowledge of English or French. For persons with a good knowledge of French there is no limit to the number of applications received for processing each year.
