PEI Immigration Program for Entrepreneurs
The Prince Edward Island Immigration Program for Entrepreneurs is a provincial immigration program made possible through an agreement with the Government of Canada. As an economic program it is designed to select and nominate qualified business people from around the world who will own and actively manage a business that contributes to the economy and may create jobs.
There are three immigration streams under the Prince Edward Island Entrepreneurs program:
- 100% Ownership Stream
- Partial Ownership Stream
- Work Permit Stream
100% Ownership Stream
The 100% Ownership Stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is aimed to attract experienced business ls with extensive management or business-ownership experience that want to live in Prince Edward Island. Candidates must start a new business or buy an existing business and must actively participate in the day-to-day management of the business. Application to the stream is by invitation only.
To qualify for the Prince Edward Island 100% Ownership Stream for permanent residence in Canada candidates must:
- Have a net worth of at least $600,000 CAD
- Have a minimum education of high school equivalent.
- Be 21 to 59 years old
- Have relevant management experience
- Meet sufficient English language ability
- Demonstrate intention to settle in PEI and provide day-to-day active and ongoing management of the company in PEI.
- Sign an escrow agreement with the Province and submit a $200,000 deposit, which will be refunded upon you meeting certain conditions.
Partial Ownership Stream
The Partial Ownership Stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is a stream directed to attract foreign nationals with extensive management or business-ownership experience who would like to invest in and participate in the management of a PEI business.
To qualify under this Stream for permanent residence in Canada candidates must:
- Have a net worth of at least $600,000 CAD
- Have a minimum education of high school equivalent.
- Be 21 to 59 years old
- Have relevant management experience
- Meet sufficient English language ability
- Demonstrate intention to settle in PEI and provide day-to-day active and ongoing management of the PEI-based company.
- Sign an escrow agreement with the Province and submit a $200,000 deposit, which will be refunded upon the candidate meeting certain conditions.
Work Permit Stream
Candidates who are interested in immigrating to Prince Edward Island and would like to invest in and run a business, may be eligible for a nomination for permanent residency through the Work Permit Stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). This stream is for candidates with extensive management or business-ownership experience who would like to move to PEI on a temporary basis to start their business, and eventually become a permanent resident.
To qualify under the Work Permit Stream for permanent residence in Canada candidates must:
- Have a net worth of at least $600,000 CAD
- Have a minimum education of high school equivalent.
- Be 21 to 59 years old
- Have relevant management experience
- Meet sufficient English language ability
- Demonstrate intention to settle in PEI and provide day-to-day active and ongoing management of the PEI-based company.
- Meet terms and conditions of a Performance Agreement to be signed with the Office of Immigration
